Any negotiation rumors?

Didn’t your contract become amendable in Aug? Any good rumors about negotiations?

Yes, no updates. They’ve met a bunch and haven’t gotten much done.

Neg chairman also quit unexpectedly and suddenly recently. So. There’s that too.

8-23-22 update

Fellow JetBlue ALPA pilots,

The Negotiating Committee met with the Company last Tuesday through Thursday (August 16–18) at ALPA national’s offices in McLean, Va. The Company and the Association exchanged counterproposals on Section 5 (Expenses, Lodging, and Transportation), Section 11 (Training), Section 24 (Filling of Vacancies), and Letter of Agreement 2 (LOA 2) (Hotel Selection/Standards). In addition, the parties discussed several issues pertaining to Section 8 (Deadhead). During the week, we continued to narrow our remaining differences in Section 11, Section 24, and LOA 2. Additionally, a tentative agreement was reached on all items within Section 5 (Expenses, Lodging, and Transportation) except for domestic and international per diem. Per diem will be negotiated later when we are further into the economic aspects of the CBA.

We have scheduled a “virtual” negotiating session for next Tuesday, August 30. Our next in-person negotiating session is scheduled for September 13–15in New York City. A negotiating session has also been scheduled for the week of October 3 in New York City.

If you have any questions regarding negotiations, please reach out to your LEC representatives or the Pilot-to-Pilot (P2P) Committee.

I’ll put the 401K on that we aren’t getting any CBA before a JCBA. It’ll be fun for those negotiating to continue to cash on the union bank for the next 2 years.

No guarantee there will EVER be a JCBA. Not until it happens. Not negotiating at all for 2-3 years with current inflation rates is a guaranteed loss for the pilot group. And for management too as their FOs and junior CAs at BOTH NK and B6 flee to greener pastures.

Trying to run out the clock until the JCBA would be a disaster for both the pilot group and management.

Agreed with all above. 401K that it won’t happen…

2 year extension with a big pay raise and some immediately implementable scheduling changes.

Thats what we should be pushing for right now.

Puts us on a timeline for DOJ decision and a JCBA where there will be some massive changes to large sections or the merger fails and we are back to Section 6 immediately.

I just boarded my time machine and peaked into the future to see how this all ends up.

The CBA is well below what our peers have, B6ALPA sells it like its the best thing ever, and our pilots stupidly vote yes to it.

Agree, but as you say, MUST have scheduling improvements. The pairings are atrocious and the company is interpreting the language for the reserve grid in the most destructive way possible. Just to name a few. I would add must include an upper tier profit sharing plan as well.
