While this may be subjective, I'd be inclined to use different language when describing retirement numbers at least at United. Peak retirements do not come until 2028, it remains over two a day until the end of 2031. It remains at least one a day until 2046.
Along with your viewpoint however the bigger the list grows to, the smaller the movement becomes percentage wise. Like right now every year assuming no growth people are moving up about 3.5% per year..........by 2030 years assuming size of pilot group grows what the CEO wants it to be ..each pilot would only move up 1.7% per year.

While AA peaks in 2025 with an average of 2.5 retirements a day...it will over 2 a day until 2028, an does not go below one a day until 2035, Delta goes to below 1 a day in 2034.

Yeah, just adding that as a relatively new FO, I am treated *much* better than I was at a regional.

Roy's post was pretty spot-on. We're not in ideal circumstances, but there's some light at the end of the tunnel in a year or so, and that's based on consistency/action from management. So far, they're doing the things they say they're going to do.

Sure, the operation can be frustrating at times, but I don't know a 121 where that isn't the case, regional, legacy or otherwise.

Don’t worry United is obviously the better choice(now) I did enjoy that theoretical thread about a merger. Very entertaining.

Wow, how miserably bad was your regional? Clearly much below average if you're treated better at B6.

The reserve list is essentially an excel document send out once in the morning, and you don’t know what time you will be on short call until the day before means for a horrid QOL. Crew scheduling abusing the fact it’s so hard to determine when you are supposed to get called so you are always working trips you shouldn’t be. Living in a crashpad for days at a time. The crews at JetBlue are wonderful but everybody who is not a Pilot or an FA is fighting you. Commuting to Delta has been life changing for the better.

You get paid more, better benefits. Our reserve work rules are better than some but worse than others. It's better to be at a major for sure, but my QOL was better as a regional commuting to a line vs perpetual SCR.

Can you expand on this? Are you commuting to SCR at JB and that's the complaint? 150hrs/yr for me on SCR, so... it's been pretty awesome.
