Recommendations are not looked at until after someone is selected for interview.

No, I did not. Just filled in the online app last month (11/11) and got the call on 12/06.

WOW! Good for you. How many hours do you have? Did you go to a jobfair?

No, I think the job fairs are a waste of time. TT 7800, PIC Turb 2100.

I don't think that is true now. With the new system I think it counts for the interview.

Although I thought most of the AirInc job fair was a waste of time, and I hate to encourage anyone to pay the fee.....it was beneficial (for me). I and at least 5 other guys I know got called by JB within 2 weeks of doing the old meet and greet---and this after having our apps online for several months. Coincidence? JB advertises that there is no correlation, that interviewees are selected by computer, and guys I know on the hiring committee echo this, but I'm not buying it. I'd recommend going to a job fair, skip all the briefings and presentations, and just attend the "open house" part. It can't hurt.

This is true for some guys...but not for others. I have been given my dollars to Kit Darby twice now and talked to Jetblue and still no call. App in since beginning of the summer and 5000+ / 1800 PIC turbine time.

Still hoping though... sounds like a great place to work. Good luck to all.

There are referrals and recommendations. Crew Referrals are considered when the computer pops out the names, before the interview. Recommendation letters are considered after the interview, and are brought by the candidate to the interview. Sound right?
