Well, that is the ONE advantage of JetBlue. As I mentioned, welcome aboard and I look forward to flying with you!! It is really amazing the caliber of of new-hires we have these days that have been around the 'patch' more than once.

FWIW, I posted the earlier message because I recently flew with another NWA 'refugee' that did not do his due diligence and was hating life at JB.

Default Contract signing...

Long-time listener...first-time caller...

Can anyone tell me when you sign your 5-year contract if you're hired? Acceptance of the job offer?...Start of training?...End of training?

Thanks, B2P

I got my contract via DHL a few weeks after I was called and informed I was hired. I then mailed it back to them. This was all done several months before I went to training.

I would say, once you sign your contract, you are hired. Now there have been cases of guys/gals not showing up for training. I guess that would be self termination. Then every now and then someone doesn't make it thru training and again they are gone.

Just my opinion.....

Does anyone know if JB has any reciprocal agreements with other airlines[OAL] for pass riding. i.e. ID-90, 75, 50, etc?

Yes, nearly all 'legacy' and domestic LCC carriers except AA and DAL; and dozens of international airlines including Virgin, Air France, South African, Scandinavian, Japan Airlines, All Nippon, Emerates, ect...

What is the 5-year contract for?
Is there a penalty for leaving early? Bond involved?
Any guesses at how long it would take to be based in FLL?

Here's my take on the contract:

The 5 year contract is protection for the company. Because we have a no furlough clause in the contract, this would allow the company to let you loose after the 5 years if there is a downturn in the business.

No Bond.

Contract does say that you can't return to your previous company for 2 years from date of signing.
