As we move along the sections get more and more difficult. Everyone can agree on easy stuff like QDL training, or uniform allowances, but we'll see how things go when the compensation and scope sections are on the table for discussion.

hey I heard from someone who has been here awhile that on your last day of reserve, you can call and ask to be released after 4 hours on reserve that day. but I can't find that anywhere in the fsm. is there truth to that? is it worth calling? I see the part about being released automatically at 1700, but can't find the 4 hour thing.

As for the TA, my last airline we were stuck on compensation, retirement and insurance, scope and scheduling for 2 years. Rapid TA'ing of the easy stuff doesn't necessarily mean the trend will continue. The big ticket items are where both sides tend to dig in. I'm pretty sure we can all agree on hijacking and uniforms, but when it comes to how much we're gonna pay for health care or how much international flying we're willing to let go, it won't be so easy.

You can always ask. They're just under no requirement to do so. I did it a lot when I was commuting, and I rarely got told "No." I think the 4 hour thing is more of a rule of thumb since if they haven't called you by about 3-4 hours by your release, they're PROBABLY not going to. I think I've had one time where I got called within 2 hours of being done, and it was for a ferry flight and limo back. If they've got enough guys, they'll probably let you go. Or not. Really depends on who you get on the phone.....

Very true.
But they could always give us a hard time on the easy stuff, that would really make me worry.

Are there still classes in training?
Just wondering if there is new hire training continuing through the fall? Just wondering how many new FOs would need to be "underneath" me on the JFK 320 seniority list before I may have a chance at a line.

I started in March and got a line for August. According to FLICA there are 50 JFK 320 FOs junior to me.
