We have lost close to 60 for the year, this is the new norm.

Just saw on our company FB page that we have a Captain leaving for jB. Non glass turboprop.

So...now turboprop pilots aren't worthy? You guys sure think highly of yourselves.

When I got hired everyone had tons of heavy PIC time, international experience, furloughed major or cargo. Times have changed. Today pilots with that kind of time aren't leaving their airlines to come to Jetblue. The new norm is the regional pilot, captain or fo, with little international and no heavy time.

These pilots are not bad pilots this is just the new norm.

I didn't realize heavy time was that helpful in learning to fly an Airbus or E190...

If you can do 6-8 legs per day as a captain of a turboprop or CRJ, you are more than qualified to operate our equipment safely.

I wasn't knocking either group but for some reason airlines prefer heavy time as opposed to CRJ time.

Some airlines do, some don't. If this was Atlas Air, flying 747s around the world, sure, heavy time is relevant experience. Not so much for us.

I really dislike the arrogant tone some of you guys portray on here. I sure hope you aren't like that in person.
