Well, until people start shipping themselves in boxes and envelopes, I guess someone has to fly PAX.
When are you guys finally realizing that we are not in the same business?

I used to think I would prefer freight since people in general area pain in the ass sometimes. But I'm actually enjoying the interaction with the customers a lot more than I thought I would. Sure there are bad days but most folks are very nice and cheery when they say there goodbyes.

To each his own.

When I started in '02, I thought that I'd prefer passengers over freight because of the human interaction. It's five years later and I've reversed my thinking. Some of those NYers who feel like they're entitled to everything can sure beat a man down.

Probably 95% of problems we deal with on a daily basis are passenger related. Give me boxes any day!

I've done both and am way happier with the boxes. No inflight security risks, no diseases, no F/A drama queen/dragqueens. Nevermind the economic realities that in the end matters more than everything else combined. After all, "this ain't no hobby".

My "next" interview would have been with UPS. With 20/20 hindsight, I regret I at least didn't go talk to them.

Shack. Once the door closes you can enjoy the roaring silence, know there's a meal in the fridge with your name on it, and make the drama non-existent. And, contrary to the old wives tales out there:

You can do it in the daytime.

The night stuff's still there for those who like it, but it does cut into happy hour.

Jumpseats are for other airline professionals...union or not...it is not a political tool.

This part of your statement is true. I don't consider non-Union pilots who undercut Union contracts professionals.
