I don’t disagree as long as they keep paying me to do so. I get nervous when I bump into numerous crew members doing the same thing.

Just curious when there will be a large uptick of people making trips to YIP for currency.

Somethings gotta be up. New hires are still rolling in the door for all 3 types.

That sounds like reserve at a regional, sorry guys...

Except no one in our scheduling department can explain to you what a circadian rhythm is. At least at the regionals they get some relief with 117.

That’s on the 747. The 767 is completely different bag of goods. You only have off on 1/7. Any other time that the company can legally have you on the hook, you’ll be on reserve. Most often that is AIRPORT RESERVE. Crews are tired, 1 fatigue call or sick call is all the justification scheduling needs to remove you from your line. Once that happens, it’s just an unorganized free for all.

Agreed.... The best is when they automatically just turn all “layover day” into R1s.

Are R1’s really that common on either fleet? Are they usually the max 12 hours long?

I've never had one on the 74. However I've heard they can exist for certain customers during peak flying. Every single reserve I've ever had, has been sitting in a nice hotel somewhere, paid by the company.

They happen in Louisville for UPS in December. The rest of the time it doesn’t happen on the 74. I would assume it will never happen on the triple since they’re on DHL. The 76 on the other hand is a different experience.

Why is someone not fighting this? Contractually I don't believe this is allowed. On the 74 we get told a layover day is just that and they won't give you a status (IE 4 hours pay for an R day) as it's a layover day.

R1 is extremely common. Was told that we are required by DHL to have crews on R1 status.
