Quote: Don't think he took the letter as "gospel". He also understands it's an offer, not a signed deal. What he decided is that the company seems to be offering a substantial raise in hourly pay, but no real raise to be seen by the pilots due to the open ended insurance costs. I agree with him. If the real TA was the same as the letter, I would certainly vote no. That's what he did by not showing up for class.

I think one of the reasons the company sent that letter out is they knew it would be on the street in a matter of hours. They assumed that people would be flocking to Kalitta to make those big bucks. The resume pile would surely grow by the hour. I don't know if it's working or not, but I think it's funny that an RJ captain decided that it was better to hang out at his current job, than fall for the ruse.

A lot of people out there, myself included, believe that we are no more closer to a contract than we were 4 years ago. The thought being that the company will only make a serious offer when a strike has been allowed by the government. Until that happens, nothing will change.
A lot of SMART RJ Captains are out there!!

The attrition is not going to slow down any time soon unless something changes. There are plenty of guys at K4 with clean records despite what some on this board say. Talk to CE or BR. There's not enough new hires to compensate for the attrition. There have been plenty no shows lately. I wonder why.

All the guys that have their stuff in at Atlas are probably holding off now in light of what's happening over there.

Quote: Pilot fighter is right. The union made a huge mistake not taking this deal to the pilots. I hope you realize how much money you are leaving on the table. But your pride and arrogance will be your downfall. The offers will only get smaller from this point forward. We know that most of the pilots here cant leave for one reason or another and wont lift a finger to damage the operation. We were trying to help you guys, but you said NO.

Git er done!
I doubt for one minute you are the real Chief Puppet as these are constructed sentences, something the CP lacks.

However, if this is what you believe then like the rest of the old outdated management you are solely mistaken. All that letter did was insult the pilot group and strengthen it's resolve. Don't kid yourself for one minute!!

I think you are mistaken. Tell me one airline in the history of aviation that accepted management’s first offer and then after rejecting it, the next offer was not an improvement? But let’s be honest, we have not actually seen an offer from our union, the offer that was sent out was direct communication from the company. If I’m not mistaken there is supposed to be something about confidentiality with regard to negotiations, but I guess that only applies to pilots.

Okay...it's very unwise to talk about what is, or would be, acceptable on an individual basis as it may undermine our negotiators at the table.

However, I will point out something UNACCEPTABLE :

The pay rates proposed are not even close to an Industry AVERAGE, as they are based on a 64 hour guarantee when the rest of the Industry averages about 72 hours a month.

Therefore, annual salary of a 12 year max. Captain would be more than 33k / year LESS than the Industry Average.
