Default PDX Parking

Anyone have a suggestion as to how to cheap out on parking at PDX for a commuter? I'm having a hard time with $200/quarter for the employee lot.

Any hotels or places on the MAX to consider?

Thanks!

I will add that I am aware of the normality of $50/month. As I said, I would like to cheap out... I'm a pilot, for heaven's sake.

Holiday Inn by the Airport will let crew members park for free. Just go to the lobby and fill out a parking pass. ALWAYS tip the driver and NEVER complain if the van is late picking you up. The van runs every 20 min from the hotel.

That is awesome! I was going to look in to a pass too but you can't beat free.

Silver! Thanks a ton, that is huge. Have you been doing this for a while? (That is, any chance I show up and they say "what are you talking about?")

In any event, thanks so much for the help.

Also, so as not to upset the apple cart, is the tip your standard $1 for the driver, or should it be a little heavier?

Since you are saving $50 a month on parking, $2-$3 after coming home from a 4 day would be appreciated im sure. Plus it makes up for the non tippers who will ruin what sounds like a good deal for you guys

I've been parking there for 3 years, there's about 20+ crew members who park there, there's a mix of FA, and pilot for many different airlines. I usually give the driver $2 sometime $3 depending on how quickly they are, they always drop me off next to my car. All of the drivers are great people and friendly. Your first time you should go in uniform and tell them you want to leave your car there. When you fill out the form you don't have to fill out the "return date" they'll have your info on file after that. I only commute 3-4 time a month so the $2-3 tip is nothing.
