Sandals Discount?

#2

They said we could just show up and, if there was a room available, we could have it at the discounted rate.
I guess if they didn't have a room, we could just camp out??

I think the standby program Is $100 a night but they don't assign you a room until a couple weeks before, if they have space available...
NOT 100% sure if thats how the standby program goes. It's what I was told by another pilot. If anyone has experience with that option I would like to know how their experience was, as we are looking to go somewhere in June.
Thanks!

I used them in 2011 and though it was a good deal for the Dreams resort in SJD. We stayed in the "executive" rooms and it was much cheaper than the advertised rate.
I think the PERX changed hands since then as they seem to be much more focused on cruises than resorts unlike the past.

I used the 20% off several years ago. At that time you could only use the 20% off with a guaranteed room at a few of the resorts, the rest were standby. I wound like to give a kudos to the Sandals customer service dept. we were at Sandals emerald bay/Exumas when Hurricane Sandy hit the Bahamas. We were there Sunday-sat, sandy hit Thursday, but all the water sports stuff was cancelled due to choppy seas. About 2 weeks after we got home, we received an email saying basically "sorry we can't control the weather and part of your vacation may have sucked due to that, but we would like to see you again and will be sending you something to use towards a future stay." I was expecting something cheesy like buy 4 nights get one free, but to my surprise they send us a voucher for the full amount of our original stay to be used at any Sandals within a year.

Back about 5 years ago I was one of the last few to utilize the $250/night (per room, not pp) all inclusive rate for my wife and I in Nassau. Tried again a few years back and it was only 20% off now. I didn't book, so I'm not sure the stipulation with booking and if it was standby or not.
