Mgmt is no more anti-union than at SWA, JetBlue, or AirTran. Besides Alaska and Spirit no LCC airlines are represented by ALPA. There just isn't a need for it.

Hope this helps
Of course they're anti-Union. No respectable pilot union would stand for flying an A320 for regional wages/benefits. And "We'll bring that rate up soon"? Who do they think they're kidding. Just another bunch of laid off pilots too lazy to get a real job and satisfied to stab Union pilots in the back.

Guess what:

NO JUMPSEAT FOR YOU SKYSCUD!!!

Greenface can you please list all of the "real jobs" so I can apply to them.
I also wonder if the carrier that you fly for has the highest pay per seat in the industry or are you undercutting your union brothers and lowering the standards.

Sure, any carrier with a Union contract. That's easy enough.

I also wonder if the carrier that you fly for has the highest pay per seat in the industry or are you undercutting your union brothers and lowering the standards.
And, once again Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a contestant who has no clue how Railway Labor Act contracts are negotiated. FYI, until we have a National Seniority List and one pay scale for ALL air carriers, contracts will continue to be approved at the individual airline MEC/membership ratification levels. For some carriers, there are other considerations more important than just pay...retirement, work rules, etc.

Each MEC/NC must make tradeoff judgments. Pretty simple, if your intellect can grasp the essentials of contracts.

In a perfect world, we would be like Longshoremen or Electricians...You need a pilot, you go to the Union Hall and the most senior unemployed UNION pilot gets the job. Pay scales are set on a National basis. No more undercutting each other just to get a job.

And non-Union pilots who worked outside the Union system would be pariahs...not accepted and shunned by Union pilots. Not allowed to benefit from negotiated Union perks (jumpseats). You want to be treated as a professional? Join the Union. Until then, pound sand.

There's no need because they haven't started working for crappy wages and zero benefits. Once the lure of the big jet wears off, SB pilots will get pretty tired of working for nothing.

Then there will be a 'need'.

Instead of berating pilots for taking jobs at places like Skybus and JB we should be mentoring them in the benifits of union membership. How do we expect pilots at start up airlines to side with union members if all the union members do is call them scabs and such. I am pretty sure that all airlines were once start ups.

C'mon Major GreenFace. Once and for all, why don't you tell us which airline you work for. That way when Virgin and Skybus are flying, those pilots can refuse your pilots the jumpseat and then they can explain to them why....just check this forum and figure out what exjarhead is preventing them from getting home. Own up to it buddy, never knew a Marine to be timid about his background.

Mr. Greenface, You assume I am was a laid off pilot too lazy pilot to get a real job. You assume I don't understand the purpose and benefits of having a union. You assume that a A319 is a large airplane to me, an A319 is 1/5th the size of my last airplane. You assume I want to be on your jumpseat, you are probably unaware that I don't commute so using the jumpseat for political purposes just isn't effective threat to a guy like myself, plus it just makes you look like a fool. You assume that I am not an ALPA member. You assume a lot, what you are is incorrect on all accounts.

Yes please let us know what airline you work for only a coward hides behind such a pretty greenface.

I wonder how my fellow pilots at SB appreciate your assumptions considering many of them come from airlines such as: United, US Air, Delta, Northwest, TWA/ American and Continental. My guess is you work for one of these airlines. Maybe before you start assuming things again, you'll think before you write. Unless your objective is to offend and if that's your goal your doing a great job, keep up the good work. Cheers

Why don't you all go to Virgin America and Skybus, and I will take all the good jobs at:
FedEx
UPS
Southwest
American
United
Delta
Continental
Northwest
US Air
Frontier
Alaska
Air Tran

What do you think are the odds of Skybus being around in 10 years?? 50%/50%, maybe worse? All of the airlines listed above will be around in 10 years (mergers do not count).

Good luck with your gamble. Remember, the house always wins.
Thanks for leaving all the good jobs for me to have!
