Flight Deck vs Cockpit? A lot of airline language is Cockpit based, however on the PA somewhere we started saying Some general thoughts….? Flight Deck. A Navy Term? Where Airplanes land on a ship? Airbus has COM, Cockpit Operation Manual, etc? Just so interesting as the ole legend George Carlin would say, “Language is Everything”! Is it merely a form or representative language where the 2-4 pilot’s sit up front. I always just say Cockpit….it is what it’s called.

And for the Airbus A320, open ALL the vents! Ensure the cockpit temp vents to the left of the J/S isn’t blocked, the Airbus A320 will freeze ua in the summer and cook ya in winter of you’re doing it right. Cheers!!!!

Despite what some people think, there is no cockpit vs flight deck debate. No one cares. It's a false culture war that some are trying to make into a bigger deal than it is. Just like the Notice to Airman change to Notice to Air Mission.

I’ve flown double digit serial number 320s all the way up to 321 CEOs that were among the last produced.

The old Airbus’s generated a lot of heat from flight deck lightning. The newer ones are all back lit with LEDs and the displaces are LCDs. There is no heat. On 5 hour night time winter flights it gets cold AF, especially without foot warmers.
