I have, and if you have been also, then you know ALPA could trim a lil fat. Don't get me wrong, it's an impressive machine behind the scenes and if I had my preference, I would take ALPA over in-house or another airline union. However, it's disingenuous to say they couldn't trim some extravagance.

Shoot, even the last ALPA National Grievance Seminar I went to had a a great free lunch spread, a full sit-down dinner catered very well, and an OPEN BAR. Expenses were not spared much. I wasn't complaining, and happily enjoyed what my dues bought me.
Some trimming is definitely possible, though.

Nice work, I'd go back to the G4 if I could've found that gig. How many days a month do you have to be "ready" to go though.... last part of the puzzle.

The question is how long can you stay at that G4 gig? How does that job security compare to the airlines these days?

Hard to say for sure. I’ve been here 12.5 years. His kids now run the business and use the airplane when he’s not. With a G500 on order, and the kids now controlling the business, I’d say the job offers quite a bit of security.
