I don’t know what it’s like on other planes but when I flew pax on the Bus we only really knew if it was too hot or too cold based on what the FAs told us. The knob position was a crapshoot and the temp on the lower display was within 10 degrees at best. Always happy to adjust it, but it was only climate control in a global sense.

Or they say they are cold and it’s because 3 of them are huddled by the door (cold) talking the entire flight. Meanwhile passengers are crammed 3x3 and hot. I go off the cockpit indication and I adjust to a comfortable temp and they have 5 degrees either side of that. Probably a reason they only have a limit of change on their FAPs
FAs don’t pay my bills, trying to make a cramped customer who are hot and in an ULCC seat more comfortable does pay my bills. It’s that simple
This goes for CAs who refuse to start the APU to cool a plane on the ground too because they are up front in lala land and don’t realize everyone is sweating back there.

Never in my career have I been in a cockpit at the gate that was cooler than the cabin. It's a greenhouse with electric heaters you can't turn off..
