here is the scoop guys and gals....
if you have A320 time...that is good to go...
alot of folks claim to have the type when it is actually a SIC type...don't try to BS anyone with this line....
the total time is important....if you have over 6K, A320 type, good PIC time....then you are a good candidate....
much more is required however than just the appropriate time...
there is a pre screening process which is completed on line...this link will be sent to you if you are being considered.....
I would ecourage anyone to re-apply or update your on line app because the hiring criteria is changing constantly...so just because you may have not been contacted initially does not mean that you could not be a near future candidate.
The initial bunch HAD to have alot of A320 PIC time and total time to qualify for initial start up. Most of this was to satisty the FAA requirments. That makes sense.
Now it is possible to come off of a B737, DC9, B757, with good PIC time and be considered for captain. A320 type is preferred, but not required.
FO candidates should be considered soon too. Guys and gals coming off of the CRJ are great candidates. DO jet and SAAB too. Now would be the time to get on. With the amound of hiring and the projected growth, a FO hired in 2008 should be captain within that same year. If it takes longer, well not a bad FO job either.
Good luck and keep the questions coming!!

330,
Do you think they would have hired me if I consented to being hired as an FO with a limited time in the right seat since you know I had 7 yrs experience as an FO? I would have jumped on that just to live and work in the Bay Area.

I am not sure what the deal was/is.
I think it is worth while to re-address the opportunity.
There was a FO hiring window opened in DEC. I don't think they will have a dedicated FO window in the near future.
My earlier thoughts still stand. New day, new rules, new possibilities. Keep trying and let me know what you hear.
ERIC...I am in. Like Flynn.

Unless you know someone named Flynn..............
In Like Flint is a 1967 sequel to the spy film, Our Man Flint (1966). James Coburn returns to the role of Derek Flint, a James Bond like spy. Lee J. Cobb reprises his role as Flint's boss Lloyd C. Cramden.
Just having fun.

I would like to bet that A330Checkairman is already emlpoyed by VA. In fact if you are called for the interview, you will be interviewed by A330.
Your may not be Flynn but it might be Rob!!!

No, really 330, I would have accepted the chance to sit on the right side for a short period of time since I already met the 1000 hr seat restriction, but would management have allowed me to upgrade before I flew 1000hrs for VA and what would have been the conditions of upgrade for my situation? If they would have then, like I said, I would have jumped on that opportunity just to live and work in the Bay Area.
