I think the marine 130s were grounded some this year. I’m betting that’s why the low hours. They had to fix the issue of the props coming off.

There could be many reasons for the low hours in the military. He may have had PME that took a few months time, deployment into a non flying staff position, injury, etc. The point is whether he flew 1000 hours or 200, the pay is the same.

You all had pretty good theories, many of which are usually correct. In my case, it was a non-deploying year which equates to not flying a lot unless you are a tactics instructor.
Deployed years you probably get around 400 hours, non-deployed 250. |

How did you get the $102,000 number? The pay charts show $69,504 so I’m curious what I missed
-Pay Entry Base Date and Active Duty Base Date are two different things. I.e. you could’ve started Officer Candidate School during college (Pay Entry Base Date Year) but only start active duty after college. So you could have 6 years of active duty but your pay is for an 8 year rank. -Flight Pay earns you another ~$150-$800/month -Basic Allowance for Housing can add another ~$800-$4000/month. I’m on the lower end for my location. -Other random pay (language, special skills, etc) |
