I just did MCO-ATL for a few months. If you work for DL there are a lot of flights...but the jump seats fill up fast. If you are OAL, the jumpseat will probably be booked by a DL Pilot, and the flights are pretty full. :/
I don’t know what the flight loads look like for the other carriers.
The only nice thing about the commute is it’s a short flight

Depends who you ask. I used to do this commute when I was at the regionals. Commuting on Frontier and Spirit was easier than on DL or SWA. If you are a mainline pilot you can do it much more easily than if you are an OAL employee. It can be nightmarish to get in and out with full flights and multiple jump-seaters listed, but nonetheless people still commute and figure out a way.
