Default MCO Commuters

For the MCO Commuters-

What is the best base/equipment for a MCO commuter to bid for? (In regards to ease of commute, considering # flights, seats avail, and MCO overnights.)

Is it a difficult place to commute out of?

Thanks in advance, and have a great weekend everyone!

Good luck. Most flights to Atlanta. Most seniority in NYC. Tons of commuters to all bases living in MCO. Flights always full.

MCO to NYC is fairly easy.

Depends on the day and airport you’re flying to, JFK gets fuller quicker.

I found ATL to be far easier than NYC for me. I had to fly into LGA a lot and take the NYC Airporter to JFK.

Bid junior equipment so you can hold commutable trips earlier.

Even though there a ton of flights to ATL, the JSs get snapped up cause there a ton of commuters.
On the plus side..it’s a short commute, and there are flights from about 0530-2200 every hour (plus some offline).
If you live a bit NE, Daytona has about 4-5 flights a day, and the jumpseats don’t seem to get snatched up as much.
Pick the airplane you can get senior on. Junior, reserve, and commuting don’t mix

I fly the ER out of LAX. Cannot avoid MCO being junior. Fortunately I like it. I’m there so much I should be paying FL income tax! I know they don’t have that, but just sayin’. Sometimes I fly the nonstop LAX-MCO and the other way. High load factors, but not once have I had a jumpseater. But I more often fly MCO-ATL where the loads are equal to or greater than 199 of 199. I’d say the cockpit jumpseat is taken 1/4 of the time but the FA jumpseats run near 100%.

Not sure I’d endorse any transcon commute, but if you got on jr. equipment it might not be a bad option.

I did the MCO-ATL commute for a year and said no thanks. Moved to Atlanta in the city and haven’t looked back since.
