13 years total service both Army and AF reserves. But I get your point. TSA is never going anywhere except through my bags to sniff my underwear.

Yeah...18 years and counting Air Guard here....and I suspect I will get furloughed from my regular job. Not sure what flying jobs will be left at the time of my furlough....especially that will be worth a darn. Considering all options, and I hate to say it, but '"if ya can't beat 'em, join 'em." I suspect the TSA has decent pay and benefits to ride out the storm for a few years. I don't think my Guard base will offer enough to Guard bum that long, and especially not if tons of other guys lose their civilian jobs and are desperate for orders.
