Your overall modus operandi is to drop one or two passive aggressive, virtue signaling sentences or questions into a conversation. So, yes. Insults. Maybe not direct, but very much indirect.
On a side note, I absolutely agree with you about your Sports car comment. A sports car is essentially a car meant to have fun in on a winding road. That is all. The LEVEL of performance of any given sports car does not define its purpose.
