What are they saying about hiring numbers through 2007? Do you have 757/767 experience? Get ready to enjoy a lot of fish & chips...

Good job!

Do me a favor and find me on my yahoo account (you'll figure it out). I'm trying to figure them out.

Thanks

Pain,

I am also in the pool and waiting for the call. I am curious to know when you interviewed (mine was July 2) and if you are aware of any order in which they are calling from the pool to fill classes.

Also, can anyone speculate as to when the next class will be?

Thanks.

I spoke with a bud of mine who has been there about a year & a half. Nothing but good from him, and he seems very satisfied with where the company is headed. Can't argue about year 1 pay either.

No scoop on how they are calling folks out of the pool. Wish I would have asked them in the interview. I know of a few other May interview folks who are still waiting, while I know later interviewees have been called. I wish they would have set up some kind of monthly update notification. Sitting in the dead silence is making me crazy. But again, everyone I know assures me its worth the wait.

Good luck to all.

edznaz~

I see you've been spending some time on the ual boards. I'm in the process there as well. I'm curious as to what you think you would do if you had to make the choice between the two job offers, if it comes to that. Go for who offers the first class date? Bigger network? Fresh ideas? Union or not? There are too many variables to list here that need to be considered and I would appreciate another perspective on this scenario.

Go for who offers the first class date?
One fellow FLYI guy did this, then left for SWA right after IOE. Not cool. Make a choice and stick with it. Another month or two won't kill anyone.

Bigger network?
Points to UAL. Better chance of getting based where you want.
Fresh ideas?
Maxjet has a solid product. Nice to be proud about how the pax perceive the company you work for.
Union or not?
I'd go Union if all other things were equal. ALPA has its faults, but I know I've used their services in the past.

Right now, I'd go with UAL, but I'm almost 40 with two kids. Younger folks with less commitments probably could better withstand the risk of a startup.

I honestly don't expect Maxjet to call at this point (see previous posts). Run both avenues to the end if you can. Guessing what will be in five years is pretty pointless, so base your decision on the facts today.

Good luck,

Z
