And you work where? I went from flying a 19 seat turbo prop for one year at the worst company in the industry because it was out and back flying from my home town. It also gave me the requirements to get a better job. Now I am flying a 72 seat regional jet with better pay/QOL, did you have a point?here?

I agree with grossly underpaid. Bottom line the ERJ 170 doesn't hold anymore than a crj 700 / 175 a crj 900. Mid Atlantic was hardly a mainline certificate and the chumps at US air are already complaining that they have to fly a regional jet with the EMB190. Can't wait to hear the crying when we start flying that.

To clear the air we/I by no means make enough money to transport 72 loved ones around at 600 mph in an aluminum tube. I have taken what has become an entry level job just like most or all of you would do if you had the opportunity.

Taking a job flying an Airbus is no longer entry level in my or it seems to be a whole slew of other peoples opinions. When a person takes a job that is more harmful to an entire industry and in the long run their own personal financial future I feel the need to try to educate them and help them see the problem they are adding too. I did not create regional airlines or crap pay. But I also did not jump in at the head of the line to accept and make it the norm. A good long look around the terminal to locate a ride to work may just be the right amount of time for someone to re-think the Skybus decision.

Let the management pilots fly the trips and stuff their pockets with stock options, let em move to Columbus Ohio to be closer to the action. But for the working hump like you and I, it's high time somebody says enough! The Republic contract section 6 is up for negotiation we are in a perfect position to make it better. I am only one man but I'll stand inline with many to make it better. I honestly do not know the resolve of my co-workers, yet. Time will tell, I'll either loose faith in the system or be proud of it but I won't fly an airbus for the 30K a year and tote my own personal "company required lap top" to work everyday.

Come one, call a spade a spade. Does it matter if I'm a 24 year old 1900 driver, a 59 year old 74 driver, or a 17 year old 152 driver?

Did you fly for a 121 operator and make a move to a carrier that flies what most pilots would consider 'mainline caliber' aircraft for considerably less than mainline pilots would accept or not?

the chumps at US air are already complaining that they have to fly a regional jet with the EMB190. Can't wait to hear the crying when we start flying that.
I can't wait to hear the crying from the RAH pilots either. "It's not our fault that we have such a low pay rate on the 190 and 195. Why can't we get jobs at a 'mainline carrier'?"

If RAH is an "entry level job", then you clearly think it's ok for entry level pilots to fly 190's on the cheap. But you don't think it's ok to fly a 107 seat 318 as an entry level job? How do you figure?

At some point, you're gonna' have to take ownership of the idea the RAH or any carrier that flies 100+ seat jets is a carrier that is competing directly against 'mainline', and is paying their pilots less than standard 'mainline' wages. How is this different than what Skybus does?

RAH is growing rapidly. That's great for you and the pilots of RAH. But, as RAH gets larger equipment, so comes the burden to be compared to carriers that were once considered to be on a different level, and right now, RAH does not compare favorably. Good luck with your negotiations.

While we have a pay scale for 190's we dont have those on property. The largest we have is the 175 and if I am not mistaken our pay rates are inline with other regional carriers flying similar numbered seats. We have those pay scales to protect ourselves, in the even that we ever do get aircraft that large. Never said we negitiated a great rate for them, just working to get better rates for us now for all equipement.

Nice Shrek. I have been a little to busy working in the real workd to reply to the gentleman with the game controller in his hand. Thanks

The tough part is educating the new guys. They don't really get it. The frustrating part is having to educate the old guy who damn well should get it. They get broken down beaten up and eventually give in assuming they had a back bone at one point or another. All the typical person sees anymore is the what's in it for me right now. They are to self centered to see that in a unified group they will get more then they will by themselves and they are too willing to take the easy road. Kinda like the union leaders at ALPA. Sorry but you guys screw the your regional siblings.

It's over anyway, the republican money machine that runs this country has been greesed again and now has allowed foreign control of airlines in the USA. They have now set a precident. It won't take long before we will be required to learn Spanish then Manderin. Next thing you Orienstein will rule the federal airline system with Shezshing (or what ever its called) and his evil plan will come to fruition. Vending machines for flight attendants and illigal immigrants for pilots.

I've said too much, good day.

Don't mean to sound ignorant here guys , but I see people post," work for the first carrier that hires you" . I mean if you can't get swa or ups or fdx , and don't want to work for a regional , can you blame a guy for going to skybus? Should they just go unemloyed till the better carrier comes calling? I don't work for skybus and have no interest in them but can you really blame a guy if it's an upgrade for him?
