“So do ya know we’re hiring , App in?”

I'll never understand some of you people. Regional pilots probably work harder and have a harder job than "mainline" pilots do. If you can hack it at a regional you're more than prepared to fly mainline. It's those military only pilots that could use more evaluation.
Being "mainline" is nothing special. It's just bother cog in the machine. You people probably also act like captain upgrade is a big deal when at most airlines it's the exact same training as f/o just on the other seat.

We’ve all been typed on the machine—but our upgrade training is not the same as FO school. Come on, man!
LOL on your military comment. Way to spool that one up.

You have no idea how true this is. When I was at Xjet I was riding the employee bus and a Delta pilot asked who I was with. He didn’t know what Xjet was and asked if we were part 121. Unbelievable.

it’s not out of the realm of possibility that an ATL delta guy did that just to low key belittle you.

I had two SWA Captains on the same day let me know they are hiring. One of them was genuinely kind and just wanted to let me know, asked about our airline, seemed interested in a dialog etc, the other was a stuck up jackass that repeatedly made off handed remarks, as if flying the mighty 737 somehow made his crap not stink. Ironically this same CA also joked about fights on aircraft, of which I had to politely let him know that one of his prestigious passengers was just denied boarding because they had ****ed all of the front of themselves in the waiting area. Anyway, i simply declined their invitations to apply since I find my current contract pretty nice, not to mention upgrade times.
People really need to learn the industry better before disparaging other airlines and realize that humans of bad character fly on all of us and that we all seek out different things for different reasons.
