I would give more weight to the info you got from a captain who actually works with Avelo. BTW I'd love an ILM base! Also I doubt they would staff ILG our of our of HVN since that is our busiest base. I'm sure it happens but it's definitely not the norm. TDY definitely happen and reserve life sucks but last I checked HVN only had one reserve line for CA.

Reserves in HVN have been used for some trips in ILG the past three weeks I know of.
HVN capt lines are down to 72 to 81 hours. A senior FO in ILG said his line is far lower than last summer/fall.
HVN has three capt reserve lines this month and nest month, only commutable for one line for 4 days off each month, unless you live in FL.

No the first year pay is no where near 125k plus stipend. Someone took some real liberty with the creative writing on the QuickTake page on this forum describing potential pay.
You will receive 70 hours minimum guarantee for reserve (which you will be for at least several months after IOE) or some bases will be a large portion of your first year (depending on where you are assigned). You could probably hold a line within 60 days at HVN or maybe ILG. BUR, RDU, MCO, and LAS will not be possible unless there are a lot of CA upgrades or senior people leave. So plan on 70 hours and 18 days of sitting reserve with he high probability of being moved all over the eastern seaboard TDY and deadheading. There have even been a few that were TDY from the west coast to the east coast for a week at a time. No opportunity there to make extra flights or money unless you break the 70 hours mark and you won't unless you are assigned a line immediately.
70 hours minimum guarantee x $105.00 an hour. And then 1800 commuter stipend. In your first year you can plan on minimum $104,400.00 (not including any 401k match contributions.
You will spend almost 3 months in the training pipeline and receive $7350 for those three months. After IOE is passed you will receive the stipend starting the next month. Going over 70 hours on reserve is very difficult because you cannot pick up open trips on your days off without a ton of approval and hoop jumping.
If you look at that QuickTake where the 128K is mentioned, its due to the 80- hour calculation and includes bonus pay for going over the 75 hours mark. So don't plan on that and you won't be disappointed-

Thre was zero attriton for March- but zero growth. Getting new aircraft is not easy and the delay in getting those aircraft changes all the growth planning. We are also upgrading from within our own seniority list more frequently now that attrition has slowed. So the need for DEC's diminishes.

Prepared extensively for interview and was genuinly excited. Once the virtual interview opportunity arrived, I was surprised they did not promote the company at all. Absolutely nothing positive about their culture, benefits, etc. The interview team spent most of their time explaining the negatives at Avelo (low training spots, pilot pool, domicile purgatory in new locations, etc). Received notification that I was being placed in their applicant "pilot pool." Notice stated clearly that Avelo would be in regular contact to update status.
Not received update in months - got it.

Nearly all airlines are having a tough time getting additional airframes. This is especially true at Avelo. That's no excuse for the lack of an update from the company. I can tell you that with slow airplane deliveries and slowing (for now) attrition, hiring has also slowed. A class of eight started in March, and next new hire class is scheduled for July. Hope that gives you a little insight.
