SWA or DAL?

Two observations:
1. It’s funny to see hard evidence of the cyclical nature of this industry. Lots of people would still choose Southwest today, but I think they would be in the minority, and I don’t think anyone would call it a no-brainer.
2. People were way better at staying on topic in the 2000s. This thread took 10+ years to derail. Same thread today would be off course in 10 minutes.

Is it possible this is also one of the reasons for FAA delay in ETOPS cert.?
Just read an article that SWA ETOPS not being "fast tracked" because the FAA is scrutinizing maintenance practices and the mechanics contract issues.
Wonder if this delays things even further.

Should Southwest's flights to Hawai'i be delayed? ETOPS and OIG | JDA Journal
Not sure if this is the one I specifically read since I don"t categorize every news article I ever read.. But it took about 4 words in a search engine to find... And basically says the same thing that I had read...
Oops, sorry... that was just a blog from an aviation reporter... Here's the one I had read

Why don't we Monday Morning Quarterback this a tad... isn't that what APC is for?
In mid-2007, where would you be if you were hired at Southwest vs. Delta?
At Southwest, I used a SWA June 2007 hire (AirTran Oct 2004 hires), and they'd be at around 53-54% seniority and holding captain everywhere except ATL (still over 1,000 junior to the plug there).
Anyone from Delta or NWA?

And that is why I asked a question to begin with.
Sources familiar with the investigation say the Inspector General (IG) is being more thorough than many expected would be the case. The IG is said to be talking extensively to — and seeking data from — a number of parties involved with all facets of Southwest’s maintenance operations, including third-party vendors who have done a large amount of outsourced maintenance work on Southwest’s fleet of Boeing 737s in recent years.
I doubt the FAA would come out and say " yeah we're being hyper critical of SWA...…" All we have is speculation and leaked information.
I know the koolaid is thick down in DAL... Didn't mean to post anything even remotely "not positive" about SWA...

So you are at Hawaiian?
The company tells us ETOPS is on track. That’s all.
Since I believe you were Comair, you understand my sentiment that “I’ll believe it when I’m in the seat flying it.”
