Hey, everyone. Currently considering a career change. Will probably be enrolling in ATP flight school here in Baton Rouge . Currently live about 90 minutes from NOLA airport (190 Breeze domicile). Anyone know if MSY is a junior domicile for Breeze? Moving is not an option for our family but being able to drive to work and not commute after getting 1500 hrs would be huge. However, there is the uncertainty of where Breeze will be in 2-5 years and established regionals such as Skywest, offer tuition reimbursement during training and have domiciles that would be easy 1-leg commute (DFW, ATL, IAH) out of BTR and MSY. Essentially, what would you do if you were in my shoes? Thanks!
Focus on getting your private pilot certificate before wondering what commute option is easier for you.

I might also add it’s probably not a good environment for someone new to the 121 world without that experience to rely on. I can’t say for sure but from the posts in the other thread the training department isn’t the best and that’s a given being a new company without processes or tools in place. I don’t look much beyond the pay scale beyond where I currently am but the regionals are paying about as much as breeze is these days. Breeze would be on the top end of the regional scale. So all that’s really left is culture if that’s your thing or you wanna shape it and qol which yeah if you live in a breeze base you can have that qol.

‘It’s not wrong though…. The person is about to enroll into ATP, they still have at least 2 years before even thinking about what their airline options will be. Being in the industry, you should know how quickly things change.

You are at least about 3 years away from airline mins. Focus on primary training first
