Age 60 to 65 was implemented horribly, one date and boom 5yrs stagnation. If we had any politicians/ regulators with intelligence, they would've staggered it in over like 10yrs by raising the age one year every two years. Then it wouldn't have shocked the system so hard.

The level of overall degradation and compromise I've seen in 63+ pilots is insane. Whether it's long time complacency, can't hear anything, missing radio calls, refusal to admit any fault or participate in CRM, it's all terrible.
Anyone voting for this is either in the above category and selfishly voting for their own monetary gain or totally clueless. This will significantly compromise aviation safety. |

And that is coming from someone in their early 40's with no health issues. Do any of you have any clue what I nightmare it is to have a deferred medical?? Seriously, do any of you have any clue? |

I’ve been in 121 ops for 20+ years and I’ve seen those actions from all age groups so to strictly pin Aviation safety on age verses adherence to SOP is unfounded. Of course there are generational practices that need to be sanded and refinished. CRM is still a fairly new concept and said 63+ yr olds may not incorporate the concept as readily as the younger groups. The insanity infestation that you are proclaiming to be happening would or should have numerous NTSB accident investigation reports to support your proclamation. From what I see, and have seen, is 121 operations have experienced the lowest accident/incident events these past few decades due to said CRM/SOP protocols. The Swiss cheese model works and that’s why there’s 2 pilots up front. |
I am ok with keeping 65, however, I can not get full social security until 67, why doesn’t ALPA lobby for that? If I have to retire at 65 by federal mandate, I should get full benefits then.
