What to do in a situation like this as a dead header on company metal or otherwise as a no rev on any company?

I know we all have had an experience while non rev or jumpseating and you get placed in that last middle seat on the plane and of course it’s next to some massive ogre spilling into your seat. I recently endured a 5hr red eye with a giant Samoan that had the armrest swallowed by his body. I pretty much had no recourse since I was getting a free ride but it was infuriating. As a paying customer I would have complained but even then it probably would end in the airline offering to reaccommodate me and not the ogre on another flight.

How about lose a few hundred pounds. It’s not the woke thing to say but you’ll fit in the seat and live longer.

Fat shaming is wrong, but it’s just as wrong to glamorize and enable an unhealthy lifestyle.

A friend of my wife’s caused a gate return because they didn’t have an extender for her. She was so embarrassed that she finally got her weight under control, and let’s just say she’s not half the girl she used to be, and has completely improved self esteem.

I'm 6'4" give or take an inch on what time of day and who's measuring.

I can't make my femur any shorter barring another major surgery, and let's just say I've had enough surgery to probably buy the orthopedic surgeon a house just from my leg. (I've probably also bought the upper extremity guy a nice car and put the spine surgeon's kid through med school)

My leg length is mostly genetics and childhood nutrition. The right one is 17mm shorter but still. Nonrev I get it. But DH or COBUS in coach sucks.

When I called out unfit after a 2.5 hour DH with a slam recliner, "what seat would you buy if you were paying" was seriously asked.

"I cough up the $19 for exit row bud"

But 32B on a 739 is a painful experience even without slam recliner.

It'll never happen - the industry knows our airplanes will suddenly weigh thousands of pounds more if we move away from average weights. Nobody wants to lose that revenue. :)
