A place I was working at years ago decided we needed new uniforms from a new vendor. The people from the vendor came out to the airport to take measurments and one of the women who was doing this said "such-and-such airline up the road has an average waist size of 44". You guys are giving them a real run for their money". Thats probably a pretty good metric for determining the relative fitness of pilot groups. That is if you can get that information.

I’ve heard it’s from getting the Jab. That’s why I’m first in line for Neuralink from Elon.

Of course there are always a few outliers but by and large I’d say those are fit groups.
It's not quite that. To be a new-joiner at Emirates, you can't have a BMI over 30 (the regulator won't issue you a medical over that number). If you present with a heavier BMI at subsequent renewals (ie. you've enjoyed the lavish lifestyle of Dubai a wee bit too much), you are under increased scrutiny with further blood tests and likely undergo a company monitored weight control program (aka Fat Camp).

In order to survive the grueling schedules that Emirates has become so infamously synonymous with, a regular routine of exercise is paramount. If you don't, illness will follow, which affects your perceived productivity by the Company which will in turn affect your upgrade potential.

Getting a medical in FAA land is well... a cake walk.

yep, other countries are way more strict. I worked overseas that based your medical on BMI and I had to stop lifting weights to make sure I wasnt close. Even though my body fat was low.
Not everyone can be as healthy as a Male Chinese man who smokes non stop but weights 120lbs
