I love working at SW and I'm not desperate for the extension, I'm just amused at all the spoiled brats out there claiming this will be devastating to their careers. Two years goes by in a flash, I'll enjoy my last 12 years or 14 years regardless.

If you don't have any proof of this claim it is a lie.

It may not be devastating, but as someone getting out of the military in the near future, that many job openings potentially going away does make life more difficult for a while.

Covid already robbed 4 years of stability. Why 4, no 2?

Because everything crumbled down. At least in my company, I went from 20% BES to furlough letter, to save from furlough, to 95% BES, to work all the holidays that I shouldn’t been working before. Crappy trips for about 2 years while we tried to recover everything that was lost.

Super high inflation for the past 2 years. I took an upgrade and even though I’m working less and still live below our means, some months the amount of savings are not as high as I would like.

Two more years stuck in the same place is less than ideal. That would be a total of 6 years loss career wise. I’m mid seniority right now, but NH at the bottom will be stuck on reserve and less movement for longer time. Most of them are either my age or older. I’ve been blessed with a good career so far, stressful at times by uncertainty and haven’t been able to enjoy the good times because bad times are around the corner every time it seems we are getting somewhere.

I just want career progression for everyone as it should. Not slow down for 2 years with probability to be displaced every time by a 65yr old that won’t be able to fly international. It’s stupid and careless by this government to even think about it. But whatever, they are sending 95 billions abroad while our own people suffers the stagflation.

No they don't.

Most don't care either way, in either house. Most will do what their leadership tells them to do on the consent votes... as long as they're getting whatever it is they actually do care about.

This will come down to leadership horse-trading behind closed doors in conference, with a remotely possible wild-card if a lone member or a handful of them decides to defy their own leaders, make a stand, and hold up the entire bill. That seems pretty unlikely though, this isn't the kind of hill that pols are likely to die on either way. No money involved, and not a big ideological issue.

Kelly and Manchin are co sponsors plus all the Republicans equals a majority in the Senate. It's already in the House bill and Graves is a big supporter. No one is talking about it because it's not a bone of contention anymore, did you notice Larson's name was not on the letter signed by 100 Dems?

The confirmation bias here is pretty strong.

all ancient history, brah. only thing that matters is what comes out of conference committee.

i haven't seen an individual this self-deluded since Delta Dave flexed on the FAA Administrator.
