At some airlines, it’s SOP, FYI.
Regarding the uFlyMike: I replaced my A20 with the new Bose QC and the UflyMike and I absolutely love it. I was having issues on the bus with the GA plugs on the A20 not working worth a darn. As far as the TSO goes, I can almost guarantee that a net of zero of those XLR5 to GA adapters are TSO’d, if we want to start playing that game.

I would 100% rather fly with someone on a non-tso'd ufly mic than what the majority of guys do, and that's take off their crappy shipset at 180, blast the speaker and then yell at you to have a conversation.
Man, talk about an absolute non-issue.
And yes, I've had guys with mic issues on their Uflymics and you know what I did? "Hey man, I can't hear you, can you move the mic closer to your mouth?". That solved it 100% of the time.

You have to adjust the gain on the Uflymike. There is a sweet spot in every plane that picks up your voice crystal clear but also doesn't have much wind/background noise. Many times there is no noticeable change in background noise with the intercom switch on or off. The amount of wind noise Bose and DC headset's produce is crazy. It has been one of my biggest hang ups on purchasing one since i'm not sure if there is a way to adjust the sensitivity of their respective mic's. IMO it is one of the best features of the uflymic.
This is with the "new" Harmony set up, the older original models were very loud.

I'm cheap af but imposing my cheapness onto another person is too far. Hearing static but being unable to discern what is being said especially in high noise cases is absolutely a safety issue.

Or just use a legit headset that costs maybe $300-$500 more. We make hundreds of k a year, buy quality equipment ffs. Ok I know you can no longer write it off (maybe next year) but what's that annualized over five years? $100? $8/month? You **** that out daily after your morning hotel breakfast.
