2. Work to live, don't live to work.

3. Save for a rainy day.

4. Stay off of internet message boards run by your labor group, or any other airline b!tch-board.

5. Never take advice from a pilot.

Are you flying with a lot of commuters? They'd be there early. I drive but I sometimes get there early if it means beating rush hour traffic.

What's a "flight planning area"? Do you start your trips at an FBO?
