It takes like 5 mins, no phone calls required or a long review.
Are you united? I hear they have to ALL meet before EVERY flight in ops.

Also, if your entire review of a flight plan is simply loading it into the fms, you're either a very lazy FO or a very clueless CA. Or, you're a regional guy doing MAF-LBB turns all day.

You knew you flew the Bro when you finished a six leg day and your Jepps were still open to the 10-9 for the domicile airport.

Mine used to be Cafe Nero, upstairs from the hustle and bustle of the crew room, for coffee and a croissant. Nice way to get to know a new F/O while conducting line training. Cabin crew were on the airplane before us. I handed a box of pastries to the purse as my F/O and I briefed them for the day's operation.

It's good to let them think they're always making more than the domestic swine, ingornace in bliss
. FWIW, even when I was international, I never understood why we met in ops 1.5 hours prior, just to walk up to the gate, get our preflight done then sit around for 50 minutes. After a while, I started to understand why a few of the local guys were always "running a bit late," and just met us at the gate lol.
