1300+ credit is going to take at least some hustle, especially with how line construction limits work. also, being a senior enough widebody fo to play the game is not really a short-term consideration like that which answers the question of if it’s worth the jump

And the OP is 33?? Sheesh - he could be pulling my line and better for 20+ years, to say nothing of what he could accomplish at a real widebody carrier like United or Delta. Why we're even talking about this is beyond me - the OP is a troll, probably the same as that pipeman loser.

I'm just talking about my W2 (although I'm not including our signing bonus). With vacation and a few well placed sick calls, the dust settles in at around 170 hours of TAFB per month. You are right that I'm 53% in my seat, but last time I looked I *am* a legacy FO. Even wear three stripes and everything.

It's more the fact that the recent hiring skewed so young that it's going to create a massive, impossible-to-overcome/wait out seniority bubble that would legitimately stimy our (those following) career progress.
Sure; the 2000s hires endured tough times. Where are they now? Cashing out 350k+ a year flying whatever captain seat they want and will do so for many years. The career outlooks for people coming up now are simultaneously better (more initial options, more ULCC/LCC movement) and worse (top end career will be completely walled off by the 1000s of 25 year olds hired) than those who came up in the 2000s and late 90s.
You guys will shake your fists at us for pointing this out, but it's undeniably true and in about 20 years time this will show. Mark my words.

who said that? you really don’t seem to understand what i said.
if you work as hard as a 400k earning RJ captain, you can easily make that as a legacy fo after year one. you then chimed in pretending to make that without any special effort at all, which only reinforces my point.

I mean, yeah you all endured food stamp wages, the lost decade and multiple furloughs, but this kid has it tough…He will have people who are younger than him that have more seniority. /s

You guys are missing the point. Let’s get back to what’s important, how terrible it is that anyone new in the industry won’t be able to be a captain in 1.5 years. They are being persecuted and we should all feel sorry for them.

I'd say a long time before posting your query. Although if you were in a closet for the past 3 years, without contact with the outside world, you'd get a pass.
