We know... And many disagree.

Now before this starts going off the rails into partisan bickering, remember that we don’t do politics here.

Here’s a recent, specific and relevant example of the opposite being true - when a contract was imposed on the railway unions an amendment was sought to add sick leave. It was voted down by the republican majority. The railroad unions were left with one day of sick leave in their contract.

“You can damn well believe our members will remember which politicians supported a basic, common courtesy of a sick day when they go to the ballot box”. - Clark Ballew. Teamsters Rep.

What the Teamsters are saying (as you alluded to) is that no party is reliably supportive of Unions. Evidenced by the fact that the PEB was convened by a Democratic president.

can you name a truly pro-labor national candidate from the party you’re saying has flipped into the pro-labor position?

but also, boy oh boy does talking about party realignment open a can of worms for the “party of lincoln”

If you earn hourly wages negotiated by a union and pay income taxes and receive a W2, you're part of that group.

If you can't afford to quit your day job because your work earns you more than your investments, you're part of that group.

Pilots earning six figure incomes doesn't make us ruling class. We're just labor with delusions of grandeur

Short term, neither. It only benefits the pilots at the top and increases labor costs for management.

Over time, management. Between stalled negotiations, recessions and concessionary contracts management will recapture those increase costs and we'll be working two more years to walk out the door with the same amount of dollars in our pockets.

My last 121 had an FOM that had the exact same language. I'm pretty sure it's universal. And I thought it was clearly an example of badly written FARs. But maybe it wasn't. So I'll say thank you for clarifying.
