Well ALPA did. Since that's where the email came from.

I have seen zero formal comms from ALPA regarding this fake NPRM.

Probably one council or individual MEC. We didn’t see it at UAL, either.

I looked at each individual LEC's recent communications, as well as the MEC. Zero mention of an FAA NPRM. No NPRM on the FAA RGL. It's fake news.

It was in the daily newsblast email from National, on Apr 1.

I don't think they intended it as a prank, those are usually over the top outrageous. It's possible ALPA staff got played?

Aren’t those AI compilations? Could be, but hopefully there’s a human filter.

The article says they're instituting an FFP limit of 220 hours in 28 days.

117 already has a 190 hour FDP limit in the same period.

I asked my reps about it, they're aware of the article and there is no formal endorsement from ALPA. They say it's a bad April fool's article, or AI slop.

I've been getting those emails for many years, never seemed like AI. Especially since AI didn't exist years ago.

I noticed the article itself wasn't great journalism, but I had assumed that since it came from ALPA that it was at least factual if not well written.

Maybe the staffer relied on AI to do their job. Hopefully they supervise better in the future.
