Has anyone else got this e-mail? It doesnt say "sorry, there are more qualified applicants" or anything like that. I dont want to read anything into it. Has anyone else got this e-mail and still got a call for an interview?

Yeah I got this mssg last week... a day after the lasergrade. I'm not sure if it's a bad thing or not.

for those of you that have got the call for the interview, could you shed some light on this? Did you get an e-mail before the call? And if I remember right, on one of the other posts, someone said that the "rejection" e-mail was very specific. Should I still hold out some hope?

throttlejockey -Not to worry! I recieved the same e-mail and was invited to set up a interview via phone a couple of days later. (Like you I figured I was done when I saw the e-mail) Hang in there you should hear very soon.:)

TJ, I didn't get this one after the Lasergrade stuff but I did earlier in the process. I think it is a standard wait email letting you know that United has your latest stuff but isn't ready to move yet. Good luck.

Thanks fat daddy. It is just so easy to read whatever you want or dont want into something so vague. Good to know that they dont think that I am a complete nut case. By the way have you interviewed yet, and if so how did it go. As many details would be nice. (I've heard about the confedentiality thing.)

Yep, interviewed and got the offer. If they invite you there to talk, they want you but need to make sure that you are what you say you are. Be yourself, they will constantly remind you to relax, breathe, etc. (of course, maybe it was because of me). It wasn't hard or confrontational whatsoever.

Have some stories, know your basics, and have fun. I wish I would have soaked it in a little more but driving home that night from the airport gave me time to reflect at least.

How long after the interview did you get the offer? I'm guessing it was a couple of days. I'm heading out on the 18th for a 19 Sep interview. What hotel do you recommend? Thanks..

Took me a week. Flew out in the morning and back in the evening...no hotel. For me, I got more sleep that way, felt more comfortable.

What would you do between United and Delta? Hope to be in the same situation soon.

I don't want to jinx myself so I'll refrain from answering....I'll just say I would be happy to work for either. I might be happier with one than the other.

I just got a phone call yesterday from Continental for an invite to an interview. It sure lifted my spirits because I got that crazy email from Delta regarding "unresoved issues regarding my psychological testing." It sure took the wind out of my sails. Yesterday, I was all "woe is me with ashes and sackcloth." However, it is out of my hands and I hope my interview and testing performance in conjunction with a virtual spot free flying and military history will override that blasted MMPI and 15 minute interview with the shrink. From folks I talked to, the chances are pretty good that I'll get hired. However, I'm hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

Just remember, a conditional hire means exactly that...a conditional hire. I guess I'm not too crazy to fly C-17s all around the world..

bigoober 09-09-2007 06:13 AM

Hell, I don't blame you on the C-17 thing. I fly Gulfstreams all around the world and end up in the same garden spots you do somehow.

I'm counting on the whole military and spot free thing also. Hope to hear from the other companies also just in case since it is the conditional offer.

Good luck on your interview.
