Default Aviation Career

I got roped into,er, agreed to talk to students in my daughter's middle school(that's 6th,7th and 8th graders for those not in the know) about a career in aviation. When I went through my learning in the civilian world, it took about 20-30k and most of the 70's. I was wondering if I could hear from some military and civilian guys about the costs these days in dollars and life styles that they feel their perspective career cost them and their family and if it;s proven to be worth it to them.
I'm going to try to put together a PowerPoint presentation even though I've never done one before. Wish me luck and any witticisms, photos movies that you think might spice up the show send along. All right, not too spicy.
Thanks...MM

Good question. I think you would find better answers in the regional section or the new upstart sections as there is far more people over there with recent experience in the field. Most of us over here can't even remember half of flight school, far less college...
