PDX-MEM Commute
#2
I'd go over to the freight board to ask this one. I'd be willing to bet they have a Bus or 11 on it. If it's a bus, you have I think 8 or 9 seats total to ride on. Shouldn't be an issue, but ask the freight guys.

Other than special events, the only area's that I know of that are tough commutes for FDX folks are on the east coast or Florida.
http://www.alpa.org/fdx/jumpseat/
Shows it as the MD-10 so probably between 2&4 seats in the back and 2 up front w/ Capt's okay
website also has an OAL instruction sheet.

I don't know about #'s of other commuters you'd be competing with but the schedule isn't too bad for jumpseats.
AM departure shows at 0500 and gets to MEM at noon.
PM departure shows at 1730 and gets in at 0030.
AM flight only on Sat/Sun
PM flight only on Mon
Both operate Tues-Fri.
Right now it's an MD-10-30. Usually those have 2 jumpseats outside the flight deck and there would be 2-3 more in the cockpit.
Cheers.
