Your turn: The best captain I ever flew with...
#41
My favorite Captain,
Met me in the lobby in Leipzig, Germany, and, after I confessed to him that I was an NQP, and the weather in Kuwait was well beyond my Standard Practice limits, he insisted that I take the leg. I happily accepted. He then politely asked if I didn't mind if he made the departure PA. I did not object.
His PA thanked the troops for their service, and he expressed to them his, and our crews' deepest thanks to them, and concerns for them. He told them that even though this huge airplane may amaze them, and that they may look up to us pilots and our ability to fly this thing, it is us, that looks upon them with awe, and gratitude, and respect. That they are willing to go into this foreign desert, and put it all on the line for US..
God Bless the troops, and Merry Christmas to all..
