Default Continental Pay Scale Increase?

I am considering Continental for future employment. But was inquiring to those out in forumville as to any possible talks by the powers to be about increasing the first year pay?

It is being addressed in current contract negotiations. The contract is amendable at the end of the year. It should go up a lot.

Don't be held back by first year pay at any airline. I'm not arguing that it should be low. It is way too low, but it's temporary. We have pilots with CAL less than three years and make $147/hr. Think long term. You don't know the future. The higher paying airline of today can be the low paying airline of tomorrow and visa versa. Go where you want without getting hung up on a few dollars. Life is too short to worry about it. In the mean time, we'll fight for a raise for all pilots at CAL (newhires included).

Could be a blended rate for 737 Captain.

That would be correct for 4th year blended pay for the 737. The average of the LN and SN is $146.

737 CA. We have numerous upgrades with less than 3 years seniority. It is the blended rate. Most of the 737's are Large Narrow pay. Lots of -800's and -900's. More coming and many -300's and -500's leaving, so the pay will increase even more.

Otto, I'm counting on you with that first year (and all years) pay increase. It will probably be too late for me but I wouldn't want anyone that follows me through to have to worry about the miserable pay that comes in the first year.
