It does now. That was what spurred the major changes in the business plan. Actually, heard through the grapevine that we are good up to $120 a barrel now.

Doubt it. But, best of luck.
apparently, the original business plan did include $100/barrel (which is probably higher than the business plan of most carriers at the time).

That outfit is a parasite on the industry. It needs to go away. It's a shame these crooks are going to hurt so many employees.
There have been a lot of truly crooked things that have occured in business, particularly the relative near-term past (Enron, MCI, etc). That said, every businessman is not a criminal, and every company that goes bankrupt is not a fraud. Sometimes, although hard to believe, really crappy ideas make it from the drawing board to reality. I am NOT saying Skybus is a crappy idea per se, just stating a general fact. In the due dilligence process they probably did not plan on todays price of oil. Also - do not forget the role of the bankers and financiers - somebody outside of Skybus did the due dilligence for initial financing. These financing institutions will often enforce these changes to cover their slip-shod due dilligence.

Don't assume the people leaving are criminals - bad businessmen yes, but criminals no.

Shift key or a space bar, you guys need to fix those things.

Seriously though, a $120 a barrel is crazy. If Skybus has a plan to cover the higher oil cost, good for Skybus. As B.A. said " I pity da fool who didn't plan for oil to be over a $100" Well he said something like that.

The way Skybus will deal with the price of oil going to $120 a barrel? That should be obvious to all! They will just lower the pilot pay and make them work more! After all pilots are over paid at any pay rate and they don't really work they just sit there in that little airplane, right?

I do not feel sorry for the Skybus pilots who will be out of jobs soon. They made a poor choice against everyone's advice, and they got burned. Sounds like a good life lesson to me. Hopefully they all have backup plans.
What a horrible thing to say. Shame on you. Shame on all of you for wishing, hoping and happy for others to fail. It could have very easily been your airline or company and people could have been saying the same thing about you.

Just another pilot hate pilot thread.

Since I am defending this airline I guess the monitors will probably pull this post as they usually do.

Naw, that's not how it works. Posts get "pulled" and users get infractions when TOS is violated. Has nothing to do with Skybus. If you feel a post violates TOS, you should report it.
