The only CAL pilots I've talked to that want a merger with UAL are the ones living in LA or Denver and are very senior.

UAL's work rules, CAL's pay and I believe the most important thing OUR SCOPE.

We have to cap the 70 seaters that are currently flying for you guys or we will loose even more jobs as the new management starts to bring 70 seaters over to CAL.

Great point about scope. I am sorry to say that one of our MEC chairman was not the brightest bulb and gave away RJ's up to 100% of mainline hours. He did try to protect HIS A plan however and f-ed that up also.

With CAL having a website for the merger and Tilton not, I would have to think that CAL will be in the drivers seat on this deal. Doesn't bother me either way as you can tell what color the plane is painted from the inside. Just as long as Tilton is GONE.

Again, best of luck to all and hopefully if this does come to fruition we can all realize we are rowing the same boat. Just to make sure, you guys should have all dibs on those airplanes you have coming.

I agree with Andy that it will be based on relative seniority, tweeked for your widebodies and our aircraft on order with 5 year fences around bases. Just my opinion.

......If this happens I hope Tilton is NO WHERE in the picture. This industry would be a lot better without him.............

I'd say a mixture of both. Relative seniority is fine and dandy for the bottom of our list but not for other portions.

To get on here and state that its the only way is ignorant.

I say no merger at all. There is nothing good in it for me no matter how its done.
