Flying for free- keep it civil please !

Though you are a moderator of few words, you tell the truth! Amen to that. Does the CBA still apply? The answer is yes. Company man or not, we do this as a living. When a group agrees to pilot an aircraft for free, while the company creates revenue, it hurts all of us... Especially in an already ailing industry. Aloha pilots, please, get what you are worth.

i know i'll get flamed for this... but the pilots under a CBA are FORCED under the CBA - they had no choice in the matter once it was done. they DO have the choice to decide whether they are better off flying for free or not at all.

The Aloha CBA was dismissed by the bankruptcy court. They will be negotiating with Pacific Air Cargo, a division of Saltchuck Industries, the company that purchased the cargo division of Aloha.
I stated in the previous thread, this is not about working for free, this is about the spirit of taking care of your family. Hawaii is dependent on Aloha cargo, these pilots are doing what is necessary to keep the islands supplied. They know they will be paid eventually.
There are some people who believe in a small sacrifice for the greater good. I am sure those of you with a military backgound have seen that in action.

The problem Im reading on a lot of these posts is that its all about the money. If these guys want to volunteer their time and it somehow is self fullfilling then that's their business. There is more to life than just money. I think these guys have a connection to this company and deep down feel there is still some hope. There is nothing wrong with volunteering your time, yet at the same time Im not saying dont make money but to some people money isn't the issue. I would rather see people volunteer than bag on their own companies over and over again like I see on a lot of these posts. I think what goes around comes around and maybe an opportunity will arise for these pilot's. I wish there were more dedicated professionals that focused on something other than just a paycheck.
