New Delta Cuts
#13
Cutting the small lift out of BOS is a lot different than cutting out ATL, CVG, LAX, and the FL markets. remember that BOS was Mullin's baby. We spent 300+ million on that terminal for him to get to work. It was one of the worst decisions that we have made. BOS is not the type of market that needed that. Now we are stuck with JFK and that mess. We could have used the money there.

Yes, the official word is 7 or 8 more 777LR's this year in addition to the 10 737-700's. It is not fleet size that matters to us. It is the staffing formula, and there is a net increase of 430 needed for those jet. Just wait for the real 777 order. We are talking true job security for the bottom of the list with that one. I also expect DAL to make a decision on an 88 replacement in the next 12 to 24 months. Waiting 10 years is just too long at current prices.
With the new LR's and the need for 400+ pilots to staff the NWA fleet using the DAL staffing formula, we should see new hires this fall. I will keep preaching this until I am told otherwise by the guys that do the hiring. Currently they are keeping the party line.
