For those of you more in the know, what effect do you think a NWA strike will have on Mesaba and Pinnacle? Will they liquidate with NWA, be spun-off like ASA was from Delta or even pick up some of the slack from NWA?

I hear alot of pilots from other airlines other than NW or DAL stating that they should both unite! How about those breast beaters... are you all willing to walk out in sympathy for both NW and DAL? Are you willing to share your incomes so the DAL and NW pilots can contiune to put food on their tables, pay their mortgages? Are you willing to join their picket lines?

Lets face reality. This could very well be the end of the road for those poor boys. This has to bring back bad memories for those guys who watched their jobs go down the crapper at Eastern Airlines, Pan Am, Challenge Air Cargo... etc.

Its not fair to give advise or support on the internet when your not willing to risk your own livelihoods.

I will and I'm sure what is going on in the industry will be discussed.

As a side note, During the Comair Strike...........Many FedEx pilots (including myself) sent money to the ComAir MEC for financial support for the striking Pilot's and their families. We were not affiliated with ALPA at that time, we had our own Independent Union AKA the FPA.

Rest assured those same Pilots will send additional money , if need be, to the NW Pilots or Delta Pilots. Let us all hope it does not come to that.

Tough to say. Mesaba is already in bankruptcy, Pinnicle not. Both are ALPA carriers. If they fly the NWA routes, it would be "flying struck work". Won't sit pretty with alot of folks

I can't speak to that with any first hand knowledge. I can only hope that the MEC of NWA and it's subsidaries have been in talks.

True Mesab and Pinnacle should not fly any Struck work................I do not know what their individual contracts say about this.

Mesaba Pilots and Pinnacle and the other Airlink groups need to understand what will happen to them if NW fails..............

Likewise when this bru ha ha is settled, NW pilots need to be supportive of Airlinks issues.

This is the Pilot vs Pilot thing I was addressing on an earlier post...................easier said than done to be sure.........

What affects one pilot group negatively will ultimately affect the rest of us negatively as well.

Good luck guys.

Not many in our profession are as compassionate as you. And I meant that seriously. If DAL and NW pilots go on strike, and God forbid NW and DAL go under these poor guys are going to be, for a lack of better terms, refugees.

When Pan Am and Eastern went under, I was hoping that the airlines would have insfuse these guys with their new hires.

Bring the idea up at your meeting. I think that would be very noble if you guys would support such a cause. I hope that 10 percent of your membership shares your compasion.
