Default Swapping FX days at DAL

I thought I saw somewhere that we had more flexibility in swapping FX days versus regular X days. I can't seem to find it in the PWA. I keep getting denied for capped reserve days. Anyone have insight on that?

Aren't they all capped? I rarely got a swap approved. The cap is way too high...

FX day is just like any other X day.
You can "request" where they place it initially if you want. They will honor the request if they can but they usually place them to break up any 24 in 7 problems on your line.
ie- if you have 4 on call days at the end of a month and 4 on call days at the beginning of the following month then they will put the FX day in there somewhere to break up that 8 day block of on call duty.

Call in to the schedulers and ask them about it. Sometimes they can accommodate the most surprising requests, but they will tell you straight forward if they can help you out.

Read the document "Moving X days" that the union scheduling committee puts out - it is easier to read than the contract and helped me when I was moving X-days. Also - keep trying as the coverage changes and you never know when the move might work.

Good point. I always put in the latest possible date to work the move and sometimes it goes right to the wire. Just like non-revving, never leave the gate until you see the plane push back.
