Well NWA just doesn't have spare 757's sitting around in TPA or any other outstation.....would have had to find a spare and fly it to there first...

Better call Maco or Earl Scheib... that's about all they can afford.

That's what I was thinking. Who keeps spare aircraft around? Sitting aircraft don't make money, but they do cost money. That's bad business.

OK I'd say any airline would be lucky to afford anything in the current state of the market.

I like that last little barb by the reporter. The passenger was still waiting for a plane five hours later. If they had fixed it in 30 minutes the last line would have been. And after questionable maintenance, the aircraft was returned to service.

You're kidding right?...I am sure NWA doesnt have a spare sitting in TPA...probably had to wait for an a/c swap for an inbound...or, one with a replacement nose cone...

I was on the flight with the replacement nose cone. It was in seat 3B, and had better service than anyone on board. That is to say, the FAs merely ignored it, rather than despising it.

If Billy Mays doesn't make a product that can fix it, then it simply CANNOT be fixed.
