Jumpseating from PHL
I am considering the J/S out of PHL on USAIR. I will be in buiness casual dress - any advice on running the TSA gauntlet. Specifically, is there a phone listing # for USAIR? Any way to avoid the ticket counter?
Thanks Scoop

Scoop,
800-325-9999 will get you to talk to a person in US Air's flt. op, so you can check loads, but he/she won't be able to list you. You can also try their resv. ctr number, 800-428-4322, but last time i JSed, they wouldn't list me if the flt. is full. You have to go to the gate. I don't think PHL is too bad, TSA-wise to use your DL badge to get thru.
hope it helped.

PHL is the primary airport that I j/s out of. The phone number above is correct (325-9999), once you connect hit 3, then 1, then 1 (assuming youre listing for today or tomorrow). a live representative will pick up, and then you go from there. Theyll flight list you, which is huge because it saves the gate agent time and theyre much more likely to help you when you show to the gate. I have ALWAYS been able to list regardless of how full the flight is.
TSA there is hit or miss when youre out of uniform. You probably should stop by the counter and get a boarding pass or else you might get sent back.

There always seemed to be at least a 2 hour long line at the US counters in PHL. You should be able to access the sterile area in civvies with only your badge - just no toiletries allowed. Also all the terminals are connected inside security, except F - the express terminal - which has connecting bus service ramp side. (Or they were my last trip there - its been a while and there was some reconstruction.) So enter at the terminal DL uses to help ease any TSA concerns.
Of course on any given day PHL can out-delay LGA, so if timing is a factor in your consideration, you might look at your other options.
